A safe working environment does not merely occur - it is created. At Universal Piping, Inc., the ultimate objective for a safe, accident free work environment is accomplished by a dedicated team of employees committed to adhering to the following.

Understand the hazards associated with the tasks being performed.

    Prevent hazards through appropriate planning,
                 training and continuous monitoring.

Investigate and initiate corrective action. All accidents, including near                misses, shall be researched to determine cause. Actions deemed                necessary to prevent future occurrence shall be implemented and                monitored.

Universal Piping, Inc., Oak Park, Michigan, recently earned the General Motors Corporation 2007 Safety Prestige Award. The award was in recognition of work performed without a single incident on the one year retooling project at the GM Spring Hill Manufacturing facility in Spring Hill, Tennessee. UPI was one of only three contractors to receive the award in 2007.
